 Microsoft Outlook 97 Setup (Packaged with Office 97) |

Step 1

Start Outlook 97 from the Start button or Double Left mouse click on the Outlook 97 shortcut on the desktop if it is available.
|

Step 2

Once Outlook is completely loaded look at the top of that windows for a menu named Tools and then click on it.
|
|
Step 3

Find the word Services then click on it.
(Note: If Internet Mail is listed in the information services window skip to the next step. If it is not listed in the windows, insert your Windows95/98 CD into the CD drive and click on Add then click on Mail.)

Step 4

Click on Internet Mail once to highlight it then click on the Properties button. Enter the following information into the corresponding boxes:
*Internet Mail Server: mail.99main.com
*Account name: username (This is the first part of your e-mail address. For Example if your E-mail address is bob@99main.com your username/login name would be bob. It must be lower case letters)
*Password: Your Password (must be in lower case letters)

Step 5

|
Select Advanced Options and tell it to Forward all outbound mail to the following mail server: this should be set to mail.99main.com then click OK button on the bottom of the window.

Step 6

|
Click on the Connection tab on the top of the Internet Mail window. Make sure the connection listed is 99main and then click on the OK button.

Step 7

|
Select Tools on the menu bar.
|

Step 8
|
|
Select Options and click on the E-Mail tab at the top of the window. In the location that says Check for new mail on: make sure that Internet Mail is the one selected.

Step 9
|
|
In the windows named When new items arrive you can select whatever you prefer.
|
|
Step 10
|
|
In Settings for automatic processing of mail select the top two boxes:. Process delivery, read, and recall receipts on arrival and Process request and responses after processing then click the OK button on the bottom of the window.
