Find Your Access Number
|
99main maintains a list of toll free access numbers for every town in Connecticut. We have two ways you can look up a local access number. You can use our area code and prefix search or look at the table below and choose a major city that is a local call from your location.
If the search gives you two numbers or your not sure which number on the table is local to you, you can find out by performing a simple test. Using your normal telephone, dial the number as shown. If the call is not local you will not hear a recording telling you to dial the" 1 plus the area code" instead of our modem tones. Try each number as shown until you hear modem tones instead of a recording.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As of May 16, 2009, you must include the Area Code for each access number shown below in the dialing properties on your computer in order to establish a dial-up connection. Please make sure to enter the appropriate Area Code in your dialer box on your computer for the access number you are using. If you have any questions on how to add the area code to your dialing properties on your computer, please contact our office.
EXAMPLE: For Windows Machines: Control Panel ==> Internet Options ==> Connections Tab ==>99main Dial-up ==> Settings ==> Properties ==> Choose "Use dialing rules" ==> Enter Area Code ==> Hit OK
