  PPPoE DSL Setup of 5360 and 5100a Modems
These instructions will help set up a MAC OS X (10.0+) computer to access the Internet through a speedstream 5100b/4100 modem.

1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.




2. Click the Network icon.




3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Built-in Ethernet.




4. Click the drop down box next to Configure and select "Using DHCP".

5. Make sure the 5100b/4100 DSL modem is connected to your Mac's Ethernet Port. Restart your computer.

6. Once your system has been restarted, open a Internet Browser (such as Internet Explorer or Safari), and type the following address into your address bar: http://192.168.0.1

7. A User Name and Password boxes should appear. Enter in your full primary e-mail address and the password you set up for your account. Please refer to the information sheet that has been sent with your account package if you happen to forget what these are.

8. Click the OK or Connect button to save the settings.

9. Now restart the system to make sure all changes take effect. From the Apple menu, choose Restart.




10. That should be it! Just open your web browser and surf the web, the modem will hand all your DSL connection authentication when you request Internet Information.
