In order to setup your Macintosh computer to work with 99main you will have to locate the Internet Setup Assistant on your Macintosh HDD. Double Click Macintosh HDD and then find the Assistants folder. Inside there will be an Internet Setup Assistant, Double click it.

You should then see a screen similar to the one above. Click on the button labeled Update to begin making a new internet connection.

Read the preceding information and then click the Right arrow button on the bottom of the window.

Select the option bubble that is labeled Add Internet Configuration then click the Right arrow button.
Step 5
In this screen you will need to name the connection 99main. Click the Right arrow button to continue.
Step 6
Select the modem that most closely matches you own. Also ensure that the port which the modem is connected to is selected. Click the Right arrow button to continue.
Step 7
In the first box enter the telephone access number for your area. In the second and third boxes you will need to put in your User/Login name and password. For example, if your E-mail address is bob@99main.com then your User/Login name would be bob. Your password is the same that you chose when you first signed up with 99main. It is important that both your user name and password are in lower case letters and that there are no spaces contained in them. After this step click the right arrow button to continue to the next step.

Choose an access number closest to you without having to dial long distance. To test this pick up your normal phone and try a few numbers that may work for you. If after you dial an number without having to dial long distance you can hear a modem squealing at the other end you have the correct number for your location.

Step 9
DNS allows your web browser to find the web sites you are looking for. You will need to tell Macintosh computers what DNS numbers to use during this step. Enter the number 208.28.184.15 for Primary DNS. Enter 208.28.184.16 for secondary DNS. For Domain name you will need to enter 99main.com in the box provided. Click the right arrow button to continue.
Step 10
On this screen you will need to put in your full E-mail address and the password. The E-mail address is your Login name with a @99main.com on the end (i.e.: bob@99main.com). Your password is the same that you chose when you first signed up with 99main. It is important that both your user name and password are in lower case letters and that there are no spaces contained in them. After this step click the right arrow button to continue to the next step.
Note: Some users may have a box labeled Quoting Character, simply enter a ">" (without quotes) symbol in the box if it is not present.

The newsgroups server address is news.99main.com in the labeled box. Click the right arrow button to continue.

Congratulations! Check the small box labeled Connect when finished and then click Go Ahead button to log onto 99main!
